Mythological Background: According to the legend, the head of Goddess Sati (an earlier incarnation of Parvati) fell at this spot when Lord Shiva was carrying her charred body after her self-immolation. it’s believed to be one of the Shakti Peethas.

The temple is located in the Tehri District of Uttarakhand, India. The temple sits on top of a hill, and you have to walk about 2 to 3 kilometers from the starting point to get there. This trek is part of what makes it so appealing.
